Node Machine - Release Blog

Node Machine is a plugin for Adobe Photoshop.

At its core it's just a node-based generation filter, but it's a creative tool that explores beyond just that.

Have you ever wondered what's possible inside Photoshop? With all its tools, adjustments & filters; well, Node Machine is something like that, like a mini Photoshop. It's a dense and creative-focused tool made to spawn points and generate connections on the surface, but once you start digging you realize its potential for creation.

The first idea for Node Machine just came by accident; it was a question; what if Plexus (the AE plugin) was made in Photoshop? I remember seeing those node shapes years ago and revisiting them felt like a nostalgia trip, and in a way this plugin brings it back.

The UI was something we thought about a lot. We didn't want it to look like a typical Photoshop panel; we wanted it to feel like a music plugin. If you've ever used FL Studio, Fruity Reeverb 2 you know what I mean; you can clearly spot the similarities.

Airbrush Machine plugin has that same energy and we wanted Node Machine to feel like it belongs in the same "music plugin" family.

Node Machine is not minimal for the sake of being clean; it's dense because the tool is dense. Every slider does something you'll actually want to use.

Node Machine looks like a futuristic tool and it shines in those scenarios; sci-fi, tech, futuristic visuals, that kind of thing. And by tool I mean it, you can push it further than just that style.

You can use it for grunge strokes, dotted patterns, gridded logos, abstract halftones. The node aesthetic is just one output; the tool itself is more versatile than it looks at first glance.

I've used it for stuff that doesn't look like "node art" at all. Once you start tweaking the parameters you realize how much range it has.
